Teams

The Salem CERT program organizes community members into teams trained to respond to emergencies. Our operational backbone is built upon local, neighborhood-based teams throughout Salem, allowing volunteers to quickly assist their immediate neighbors and report needs to emergency services when response times are delayed.

Beyond local response, we also have several focused teams dedicated to sustaining the program’s success and preparedness. These include the CERT Advisory Group, which oversees strategic direction through its specialized sub-teams: Communications, Engagement, Logistics, Operations, Organization, and Training.

As a CERT team member, you will apply the skills learned in our training to help save and sustain lives, working collaboratively with others to build a more resilient and prepared community. Our teams are vital in providing immediate assistance when professional responders are delayed. We encourage community members to get involved, as working together in teams is crucial for effective disaster response and helps strengthen the bonds of our community.
