Upcoming Training: CERT Class
Our next series of CERT classes has been scheduled for the early 2026 session. The classes will be held on Thursday evenings, unless otherwise indicated; each class, except the final exercise, will begin at 6 p.m. and end by 9 p.m. The location for all classes will be the Training Room at Fire Station #6, 2740 25th Street SE, Salem.

West Salem Bi-Monthly(ish) Team Meeting
Our next Bi-Monthly(ish) meeting is coming up on Saturday,March 14th, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. We’re back at our usual spot: the Roth’s Event Center in West Salem.

If you haven't been there before, it’s located behind the Roth's at 1130 Wallace Road NW. If you're coming along Wallace, just turn up Glen Creek past the store and pull into the first parking lot on your left. You'll see an entrance clearly marked "Roth's Event Center."

We have a busy morning planned:
- Welcome & Calendar Review: A quick look at what's coming up.
- Show and Tell: We have a specific item scheduled to share, but if you have a piece of gear or a tip you’d like to show the group, we’d love to see it!
- The Main Event: We’ll be discussing the ins and outs of a CERT go-kit and how it differs from a bug-out bag.
  Note: If you already have a go-bag or bug-out bag, please feel free to bring it along for some extra show-and-tell. It’s definitely not required, but it’s always helpful to see different setups.
- Hands-on Activity: We’re going to spend some time putting together CERT/Preparedness packets. These are great little resources we can share with friends and neighbors to help get them thinking about readiness.
- Q&A: We’ll wrap up with time for questions and any final thoughts.
As always, these meetings aren't just for CERT members—they’re open to the whole community. Feel free to bring a friend, a neighbor, or anyone interested in being a little better prepared.

Salem CERT HAM Net
Do you have a ham radio license? Whether you're a member ofthe Salem CERT, another CERT team, or not a CERT member at all, we invite you to join our monthly radio check-in! This is a great chance to practice your radio skills and connect with other operators.
The next check-in is scheduled for the First Sunday of each month, at 4:30 PM. We will be operating on the frequency of 146.580 Mhz (simplex).
A Net Control Operator will be running the session, so please remember to wait for instructions before transmitting. This helps to ensure a smooth and orderly check-in for everyone.
While not required, it is hoped that many of the check-ins will take place from your assigned cache, using the ham radio in the cache when possible.
